Pusha-T’s “The Story Of Adidon” Gives New Context To Drake’s Child Support References On “I’m Upset”

“Can’t go fifty-fifty with no hoe.”

Pusha-T answered Drake’s “Duppy Freestyle“ on Tuesday night with a bristling diss track of his own. “The Story of Adidon” sends several major accusations in Drizzy’s direction, one of which includes rumors that the OVO rapper fathered a secret child named Adonis with French model Sophie Brussaux. While the revelation was new to many rap fans, gossip sites have been reporting on it since last year. Drake has yet to comment on Pusha’s claim, but it could explain Drake’s somber opening verse on his latest single “I’m Upset.”

On the track, the 31-year-old points out his unwillingness to hand over money to a woman he’s not in a relationship with:

Thankful for the women that I know
Can’t go fifty-fifty with no hoe
Every month, I’m supposed to pay her bills
And get her what she want

On the chorus following his second verse, Drake once again references the fake love he’s receiving, while alluding to a legal battle with an unnamed woman:

Every month, she don’t even love me, she just puttin' on a front
She gon' try and settle outta court and make a run
Then gon' ask me how I’m doin'?

These lyrics gained more context after Pusha uncovered Drake’s situation with Adonis and Sophie on “The Story of Adidon” diss. Adonis may also be the name of Drizzy’s upcoming collection with adidas:

Sophie knows better, ask your baby mother
Cleaned her up for IG, but the stench is on her
A baby’s involved, it’s deeper than rap
We talkin' character, let me keep with the facts
You are hiding a child, let that boy come home
Deadbeat mothafucka playin' border patrol, ooh
Adonis is your son
And he deserves more than an Adidas press run, that’s real

“I’m Upset” also features Drake noting that his father, Dennis Graham, still owes his mother outstanding child support payments:

I still got like seven years of doin' what I want
My dad still got child support from 1991

Pusha prodded Drizzy’s strained childhood relationship with his dad on “The Story of Adidon.” He even referenced “I’m Upset” on his diss track, closing out the No I.D.-produced onslaught by laughing off Drake’s claims of being upset:

And you talkin' ‘bout you upset
Hahahahaha
Well I wanna see what it’s like when you get angry, okay?
You show me that

Drake released “I’m Upset” mere hours after taking aim at Pusha-T with his “Duppy Freestyle” on May 26. The dark single is set to appear on the Toronto native’s upcoming Scorpion album, which is still without an official release date but slated to drop sometime in June.
