Quavo’s ‘QUAVO HUNCHO’ Debuts At No. 2 On The Billboard 200 Sales Chart

The ‘A Star is Born’ soundtrack retained the No. 1 spot for a second week.

Migos MC Quavo posted impressive numbers for his debut album, QUAVO HUNCHO, but he couldn’t unseat the blockbuster soundtrack to A Star is Born from the top spot on the Billboard 200. Quavo’s first solo outing earned 99,000 units, though just 6,000 of those were from album sales.

In a somewhat bizarre turn of events, QUAVO HUNCHO technically debuted the previous week because it was released three hours before the tracking charts for the week ending on October 11 concluded. In those three hours it moved 11,000 units, good for the No. 66 position.

Earler in 2018, Migos' Culture II earned the No. 1 spot after selling 199,000 units. QUAVO HUNCHO slightly outperformed Quavo’s collaborative album with Travis Scott, Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho, which moved 90,000 units in its first week en route to a No. 3 debut.

Much like the box office returns for the movie itself, the Star is Born soundtrack shows no signs of slowing down, with 143,000 equivalent album units this week. The soundtrack’s success is buoyed by the single “Shallow,” which has reached as high as No. 5 on the Hot 100 and occupies the lead spot on Genius' Top Songs chart as of publication.

At No. 3, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V moved 85,000 units, while Gunna and Lil Baby’s Drip Harder followed up at No. 4 with 71,000 units shipped in its second week.

Rounding out the top five is Ella Mai, whose self-titled debut LP sold 69,000 album equivalent units.
