Roddy Ricch Showcases His Chemistry With Lil Durk On New Single “Twin”

The song appears on Ricch’s forthcoming ‘Feed Tha Streets 3’ project.

This Friday, Roddy Ricch is set to return with Feed Tha Streets 3, the third installment of a mixtape series he began back in 2017. Ahead of the release, the Compton MC has dropped the new single “Twin,” a sleek and lean collaboration with Chicago rapper Lil Durk that’s parked inside the Top 20 of the Genius Top Songs chart.

Featuring production by Aaron Bow, Byrd, and Teddy Walton, “Twin” is about friendship and shared taste in automobiles. Well, the chorus is, anyway. Roddy and Durk have worked together twice—first on Ricch’s 2019 tune “Moonwalkin,” then on DJ Khaled’s 2022 song “KEEP GOING.” On the hook, Roddy expresses the kinship he feels for his fellow rapper and Mercedes owner.

Ayy, twin (That’s my twin), that’s my twin (That’s my twin)
GLE (GLE), matchin’ Benz (Matchin’ Benz)

Roddy takes the first verse and details an extravagant trip to London. He apparently made quite a scene at the city’s most famous department store.

Tamea, Tamera, we draped down in karats
I flew out to London to blow a bag at Harrods

Ricch then dips into the fashion world and shares his opinions on Kanye West’s failed marriage.

Front row (Front row), fashion show (Fashion show)
Balenciaga (Balenciaga), the Paris way (Paris way)
Kim K (Kim K), better get back with Ye (Back with Ye)

Durk takes the second verse and declares his support for Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty, who’s serving five years on gun charges. Durk also reminisces about how he and his buddy OTF Dede used to be too broke to get their own rooms at mid-level hotels.

Say, “Free Shiesty,” ’til he free, go ask his bitch, I sent him ten
(Go)
Me and Deeski shared a room with double bed at Drury Inn
(Man, what?)

A few lines later, Durk name-checks another friend who’s behind bars: Ahbir Sardin, aka D. Rose, who was sentenced to 40 years for murder back in 2017. The alleged gang member shares his name with NBA great Derrick Rose, hence Durk’s Knicks reference.

Ain’t no proper cause, the state did Rose worser than the Knicks
(Worser than the Knicks)
When you tell an nigga no they’ll treat you worser than a bitch (Worser than a bitch)

Along with the release of “Twin,” Roddy Ricch announced his Feed Tha Streets 3 tracklist. Ty Dolla $ign, the project’s only other feature, will appear on a song called “#1 Freak.” While you wait to hear what that one sounds like, you can read all the lyrics to “Twin” on Genius now.
