Atlanta R&B singer 6LACK had a breakout moment in 2016 with his debut album FREE 6LACK, featuring buzzy singles like “PRBLMS” and “Ex Calling.” Today, he returns with his sophomore effort East Atlanta Love Letter. The 14-track album features J. Cole, Future, Offset, and Khalid. Production is handled by T-Minus, Bizness Boi, Joel Little, Stwo, and more. It also includes his recent singles “Switch” and “Nonchalant.”
“I think for the second album, my main thing was, I only put out 11 songs ever, I gave them three bonus tracks way later, I did a couple of features in between, but it’s not like people had room to get tired of me,” he told Joe Budden in a recent episode of Pull Up. “From what was happening on the ground with the shows, I don’t necessarily have to make this deadline… I feel like the timeline has been pretty well timed. They haven’t had a chance to get tired of me so with this album I didn’t feel like I had to go far left or break some ground of sonics. I just wanted to make what I felt like making during the time, which was last album, that’s what I went through up to this point. This album is what I’m going through now.”
