Taylor Swift’s long-awaited re-recording of her fourth album, 2012’s Red, arrives today. The singer first announced that the album—called Red (Taylor’s Version)—would be her second re-recorded full-length back in June, following the release of Fearless (Taylor’s Version), which arrived in April. Originally, the LP was slated for a November 19 release, but Swift moved up the album drop to November 12 in order to put the project in closer proximity of her lucky number, 13. “Can’t wait to celebrate the 13th with you and our new/old autumn heartbreak album,” she wrote on Instagram in September.
Red (Taylor’s Version) spans a whopping 30 tracks, including eight previously unreleased songs. Swift enlisted Phoebe Bridgers, Ed Sheeran, and Chris Stapleton to collaborate on three of those “from the vault” songs: “Nothing New,” “Run,” and “I Bet You Think About Me.” Gary Lightbody also returns to feature on the re-recording of his original Red collaboration, “The Last Time,” along with Sheeran, who sings on the remake of his original Red cut “Everything Has Changed.”
But most anticipated of all might be Swift’s 10-minute version of her cult favorite breakup ballad “All Too Well.” Longtime fans have been hoping for the release of this extended version since Swift shared some of its lyrics in the deluxe edition of her 2019 album Lover. Alongside the release of Red (Taylor’s Version), Swift will also drop a short film for “All Too Well,” starring Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink. The film premieres at 7 PM EST on Friday.
