Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone return to theaters this weekend with the release of Creed II, and the film’s soundtrack also debuts today. Curated and executive produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, the soundtrack features a lengthy list of hip-hop and R&B stars. On the rap front, artists like Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, Crime Mob, J. Cole, 2 Chainz, Rae Sremmurd, Nicki Minaj, ScHoolboy Q, A$AP Rocky, and Lil Wayne contribute features. Meanwhile, rising R&B talent like Ama Lou, Ari Lennox, and Ella Mai also contribute. Even indie darling Bon Iver makes an appearance.
“RARE COLLABS , LOUD MIXES , NEW FLOWS , FRESH MELODIES , NEW TEMPOS , NEW FREQUENCIES REAL MESSAGES IN THE MOST ORGANIC WAY. THE SOUNDTRACK / COLLABORATION ALBUM GAME WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AFTER THIS,” Mike WiLL wrote about the project in a tweet. He put out one single in advance of the soundtrack’s release—Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell’s “The Mantra.”
