The 2017 film The Greatest Showman took Hollywood by surprise, earning over $174 million at the domestic box office. Its soundtrack was no slouch either, moving well over one million copies in the US this year. Now, the film’s original songs, written by famed duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, have found new life with The Greatest Showman Reimagined.
This new version of the The Greatest Showman soundtrack features some of music’s biggest stars singing their own renditions of the film’s original songs. Artists like Panic! at the Disco, Ty Dolla $ign, Kelly Clarkson, Kesha, Missy Elliott, James Arthur, Sara Bareilles, P!nk, and Anne-Marie contribute vocals to the project.
“There was an article in Variety that talked about how ‘Greatest Showman’ was uncool in an appealing way and I think that’s true,” Pasek told USA Today. “Ten years ago, everything was sort of ironic and snarky, and there are definitely people who will approach this material [that way]. But I think the reason that it’s resonated is that it isn’t trying to be anything other than open-hearted, fun and uplifting.”
