Compton rappers Tyga and YG have collaborated on a lot of songs over the years, and now they’re taking their partnership to the next level with Hit Me When U Leave the Klub: The Playlist, a joint 14-song collection with some notable guest stars.
Fellow Cali rhymer Blxst turns up on the previously released “West Coast Weekend”, while Lil Wayne guests on “Brand New,” which arrived yesterday. Meanwhile, East Coast legend Busta Rhymes lends his distinctive voice to “Big One.”
In an interview with Numéro Netherlands, YG said his goal for this playlist was to create “something fun.” “You know, me and Tyga have a lot of records with each other that have been hits,” YG said. “We created a lot of moments in hip-hop. Being a part of rap and being from the same city, we just felt like it was finally time to do a bigger project together. We talked about it for years. We finally both had the time to really sit down and get it done, and it means a lot.”
