Wale released a pair of EPs earlier this year, and now he’s back with another one. Titled Free Lunch, it spans five tracks long and includes guest appearances from Eric Bellinger and J. Cole, who also produced on the EP. Production is also handled by MK Beats, Musik MajorX, Paperboy Fabe, and Tariq Beats.
Following the announcement of the project earlier this week, Wale tweeted about the hate he gets on the internet. “Every day I get online and I see the craziest shyt about me, I don’t want to care but I do,” he wrote. “The music gives me peace. FreeLunch.”
Back in May, Wale announced his signing to Warner Bros. Records, explaining that the deal affords him greater control over his career. “I had to have a partner; no longer could I have a boss,” he told DJ Booth at the time. “I’m finally an executive. A real exec. Watch it all unfold. Once I get myself settled in I’m changing the industry the way I see fit and working vigorously to create, sign and promote DOPE SHIT.”
