YG returns today with I GOT ISSUES, his sixth studio album and first since 2020’s My Life 4Hunnid. The LP also follows last year’s Kommunity Service, a joint album with fellow California rapper Mozzy. Speaking with Power 106 earlier this year, YG said I GOT ISSUES—like his previous material—would be based on life experiences.
“It’s just the growth of me, my headspace, what I’m on in life,” YG said. “And I think the whole COVID pandemic shit, I hated it, but I also look at it as like this shit kinda helped me get to where I’m at mentally.”
In the lead-up to I GOT ISSUES, YG released four singles: “Scared Money” (featuring J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo), “Alone,” “Toxic,” and “Maniac.” Elsewhere on the 14-song project, YG collabs with Mozzy and D3szn, H.E.R., Nas, Cuco and Duki, and Roddy Ricch and Post Malone.
