Anderson .Paak is back with Oxnard, his follow-up to 2016’s Malibu and first album since signing to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. The 14-track project features Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Pusha-T, Snoop Dogg, Q-Tip, and Dr. Dre, who executive produced the album. Previously heard singles from the full-length include “Tints” and “Who R U?”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, .Paak explained how collaborating with Dre gave him creative inspiration. “You’ll go crazy when you’re making these albums if you don’t have nobody to be your co-pilot,” he said. “We went in for a few more weeks and that’s when the bulk of the album actually got done. These were songs that I never thought I’d write.”
