DaBaby and YoungBoy Never Broke Again have joined forces for their first-ever collaborative project, BETTER THAN YOU, which arrived today. DaBaby officially announced the project on his Instagram four days prior, but the duo shared the LP’s opening track, “Hit,” back in January. Alongside the album announcement, the pair gave fans a second song, “Neighborhood Superstar.”
In the lead-up to BETTER THAN YOU, YoungBoy has kept pretty busy. The rapper recently announced his next mixtape, Realer 2, and in January, he dropped the solo project Colors, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Last week, YoungBoy also released “I Hate YoungBoy,” which appeared to be a diss track aimed at rapper Lil Durk. The song further fueled the foes’ ongoing beef.
DaBaby has managed to drum up some headlines this year as well. Apart from dropping a string of standalone solo singles like “BOOK IT” and “COUPLE CUBES OF ICE,” the Cleveland-born, North Carolina-raised rapper has been at the other end of a lawsuit with his ex DaniLeigh’s brother following a fight that broke out in a Los Angeles bowling alley.
Though it’s their first joint project, BETTER THAN YOU is not DaBaby and YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s first collaboration. The pair previously linked on two 2020 songs, DaBaby’s “JUMP” and YoungBoy’s “Thug of Spades.” They also appeared together on the 2019 Gucci Mane track “Richer Than Everybody.”
