Don Toliver returns today with his third studio album, Love Sick, the follow-up to 2021’s Life of a DON, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Speaking with GQ last September, the Houston singer and rapper gave fans an indication of where he was going with his latest batch of songs. “I’m just now getting to where I really wanted to be: futuristic R&B and soul,” he said.
Love Sick includes the previously released singles “Do It Right”; “4 Me,” featuring Toliver’s girlfriend, Kali Uchis; and “Leave the Club,” a collaboration with Lil Durk and GloRilla. Other guests on the project include Wizkid, James Blake, Justin Bieber, and Future.
In addition to the new LP, Toliver is dropping Love Sick: The Short Film, which is available to stream on Amazon Prime. The film’s trailer is full of violence, sex, and groovy ’70s vibes. Probably worth a look, in other words.
