Last month, up and coming Atlanta rapper J.I.D signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville Records and announced that his debut album would be titled The Never Story. Weeks later, J.I.D returns with the 12-track album, which includes previous singles like 2015’s “Underwear,” 2016’s “D/vision” featuring EarthGang, and his most popular record, “Never.” Producers like Childish Major, Hollywood JB, Christo, and J. Cole, appear on the album to back J.I.D’s flow with solid beats.
In a recent interview with HotNewHipHop, J.I.D discussed the album, saying, “Life, it’s not really flashy, it’s not really about being the most richest whatever… It’s about coming for something and trying to attain. It’s all about progression type shit.”
