Today marks the release of the sure-to-be-blockbuster sports drama Creed III, directed by franchise star Michael B. Jordan, and the companion soundtrack album, executive produced by J. Cole’s Dreamville label. Creed III: The Soundtrack features numerous rappers from the Dreamville team, including Bas, JID, Lute, and J. Cole.
Jordan first announced Dreamville’s involvement back in November, and last month, fans got to hear two singles from the eagerly anticipated soundtrack. First was “Ma Boy” by JID and Lute, followed by “Blood, Sweat & Tears,” a collaboration between Bas and Ghanaian singer Black Sherif, featuring Kel-P.
According to a press release, Dreamville worked closely with the film’s producers to “create a musical experience that fit not just the film’s needs but one that will be celebrated as its own piece of art—inspired by both the film and the coming together of various artists on a soundtrack that matches the film’s acclaim and impact on community and culture.”
