Foo Fighters return today with But Here We Are, their 11th studio album and first since the death of beloved drummer Taylor Hawkins in March 2022. Hawkins’ passing naturally played a huge role in shaping the new album, which the band describes as a “brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year.”
Dave Grohl and company recorded the album with producer Greg Kurstin, who’s worked with the Foos on two previous LPs. Grohl himself handled drumming duties on all 10 tracks, though veteran timekeeper Josh Freese is replacing Hawkins on tour.
But Here We Are includes the previously released singles “Rescued,” “Under You,” “Show Me How,” and “The Teacher.”
