Today, Harry Styles dropped his highly anticipated third album, Harry’s House, delivering the world a 12-song collection of vibrant synth-pop goodness. Leading up to the release, Styles only officially shared one single, “As It Was,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. But fans also got to hear the former One Directioner perform a couple unreleased tracks, “Late Night Talking” and “Boyfriends,” during his headlining Coachella set back in April.
Harry’s House sees Styles reunite with longtime collaborators Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson, the production team he’s been working with since his 2017 debut. However, the U.K. singer-songwriter also recruits a few new collaborators. Singer-songwriter and guitar hero John Mayer lends his strumming skills to “Cinema” and “Daydreaming,” while Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange, plays the cello on “Matilda.”
The sound throughout Harry’s House may be upbeat and light, but Styles insists he still gets personal on the album. “It sounds like the biggest, and the most fun, but it’s by far the most intimate,” he told Better Homes and Gardens. “I just want to make stuff that is right, that is fun, in terms of the process, that I can be proud of for a long time, that my friends can be proud of, that my family can be proud of, that my kids will be proud of one day.”
