Hayley Williams Shares “Cinnamon” Video & Drops New EP ‘Petals For Armor I’

The EP is the first taste of her debut solo album.

Ahead of her debut solo album, Petals for Armor, Hayley Williams dropped a collection of five songs called Petals for Armor I as well as the video for her latest single, “Cinnamon.”

Produced by Paramore bandmate Taylor York, “Cinnamon” explores how solitude expands into the finer details of home life, as Williams rifles through still-life vignettes:

Eat my breakfast
In the nude
Lemon water
Living room
Home is where
I’m
Feminine
Smells like
Citrus and
Cinnamon

While the videos for “Simmer” and “Leave It Alone” depict a fantastical metamorphosis, the Warren Fu-directed visual for “Cinnamon” gives The Yellow Wallpaper a run for its money, as floral-patterned interiors take on a life of their own. Naturally, the surreal spectacle includes a dance breakdown with Williams flanked by her wallpaper.

“Cinnamon” appears on Petals for Armor I, a five-track EP that marks the first installment of the forthcoming full-length. It also includes the tracks “Creepin’” and “Sudden Desire”.

“There are a lot of themes covered on the album as a whole and I thought it best to separate some of these themes so that there can be time for everyone to digest some of the songs before we move along to others,” Williams said in a statement about the EP. “It’s a way to include people on the journey in the same way that I experienced it.”

Her debut album will arrive on May 8.
