88RISING star Joji returns today with his third studio album, SMITHEREENS, the highly anticipated follow-up to his 2020 sophomore effort, Nectar. Joji took a different approach to the album process this time around. Spanning 18 tracks, Nectar featured high-profile collaborations with the likes of Diplo, Omar Apollo, and Lil Yachty. SMITHEREENS, on the other hand, chops that run time in half and contains no features.
Leading up to the release of SMITHEREENS, Joji shared two singles: “YUKON (INTERLUDE)” and “Glimpse Of Us,” the latter of which earned him his first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 back in July. But those aren’t the only tastes of the project that fans have been given. Joji has also been performing tracks off the LP for a couple months now on his Smithereens Tour, which began in Palo Alto in September and includes opening acts Dhruv, Rei Brown, and Savage Realm at different dates.
