As promised, Lil Wayne lets loose his highly anticipated Dedication 6 mixtape on Christmas Day. The 15-track project includes remixes of 21 Savage’s “Bank Account” and JAY-Z’s “The Story Of O.J.,” Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA.,” and more. Wayne recruited several Young Money affiliates to assist him on his latest effort, including Nicki Minaj, Cory Gunz, Gudda Gudda, Hoodybaby, and more.
Dedication 6 is Lil Wayne’s second project this year following his July EP In Tune We Trust and arrives while his long-awaited album Tha Carter V still has no sign of release. While Wayne has said the LP is complete, it’s being used as a bargaining chip in his ongoing $51 milion lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money over unpaid royalties.
During an appearance on NFL GameDay Prime earlier this week, Wayne hinted at a second installment of Dedication 6:
I got Dedication 6 dropping for Christmas. What we ended up doing, I ended up doing a whole bunch of songs, so they want to split it up. So they’re going to drop one version for Christmas, then they’re going to drop the other songs after that.
