After years of teasing the project, Lil Uzi Vert has finally dropped their long-awaited album Pink Tape. The LP has been in the works as far back as 2020, when Uzi announced it during an Instagram Live session. Over the next few years, Uzi occasionally shared cryptic updates about the project, but it wasn’t until the rapper unveiled the album’s official trailer earlier this month that a release date was confirmed.
Pink Tape is the follow-up to Uzi’s 2020 album Eternal Atake, which topped the Billboard 200, spawned three Top 10 hits, and featured guest appearances from R&B singer Syd and South Jersey band WanMor. This time around, Uzi recruits a few more acts to help them out, including Nicki Minaj, Don Toliver, Travis Scott, and a pair of rock groups: Bring Me the Horizon and BABYMETAL. The LP, which spans a whopping 26 tracks, was preceded by one single, ”Just Wanna Rock,” a Jersey club-infused banger that reached No. 10 on the Hot 100 in February.
