Miguel dropped his last album Wildheart in 2015, and he’s finally back today with War & Leisure. The 12-track project features Rick Ross, Travis Scott, Kali Uchis, J. Cole, and Quiñ, while production is handled by Salaam Remi, Happy Perez, Detail, On My Way, and Miguel himself.
“The album is a good representation of what’s occupying my mind in this space and time,” he said in a recent interview with Paper “It’s definitely a more upbeat album, ironically. I like contrast. It makes the world interesting. You can see that in my aesthetic as well. If you listen for the feeling, and I listen to music for feeling sometimes, and then you go back and listen to the lyrics, there’s other layers there to be revealed. I think there’s a lot of dynamic there for my fans to really grab onto and appreciate.”
