Miley Cyrus just dropped her first EP in almost a decade, She Is Coming, leading up to her forthcoming seventh album later this year. The pop star recently grabbed headlines for namechecking Nicki Minaj and Cardi B on “Cattitude”–and her promotional cycle began with a series of ASMR-style videos. This is her latest release following 2017’s Younger Now.
Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, and Mike WiLL Made-It executive produced the album. Her features include Swae Lee, RuPaul, and Mike WiLL Made-It. She also teamed up with Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah on “D.R.E.A.M. (Drugs Rule Everything Around Me)”–a play on the legendary rap collective’s “C.R.E.A.M.”
“Me and Mark [Ronson] have worked on a bunch of songs on my next record, so I was kind of just in this creative space,” Cyrus told Most Requested Live With Romeo earlier this year. “Sometimes the visuals of what I can imagine it looking like can even inspire me in the vocal booth, and so you can put those messages you want to bring–what it’s really about to you–into it. I’m such a visual person, that when I record a vocal take–this is really creepy, this is a girl thing–I imagine what lipstick I’ll be wearing in the music video.”
