Miley Cyrus returns today with her eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation. The LP features Cyrus’ hit single “Flowers,” which just logged its sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Elsewhere on the album, Cyrus links with Brandi Carlile for the cut “Thousand Miles” and Sia for the track “Muddy Feet.”
Leading up to the release of Endless Summer, Cyrus described the album as a “love letter to Los Angeles” and revealed that the LP is divided into two acts. The first act, “AM,” represents the morning, when there’s a “potential of new possibilities.” The second act, “PM,” has a slightly darker energy. “In the nighttime, it feels that there’s a slinky, seediness, and kind of a grime, but a glamor at the same time,” Miley explained in a clip on Instagram. “In the evening, it’s a great time for rest, it’s a time to recover—or it’s a time to go out and experience the wild side.”
Alongside the release of Endless Summer, Miley Cyrus is reviving her Backyard Sessions series, which originally premiered on YouTube back in 2013. The special will be available to stream on Disney Plus today at 1 PM ET.
