Miley Cyrus gets back to her roots on her new album Younger Now, which she just shared with fans after first announcing it back in early August. The 11-track album includes just one feature from country legend Dolly Parton. Production is handled entirely by Oren Yoel, and the album features Cyrus' recent singles “Younger Now,” “Malibu,” “Week Without You,” and “Inspired.”
“I hope to always make people smile and shine light thru my work,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram recently. “I look forward to making music for the rest of my life and I’m thankful everyday for those who listen! I am sending so much love and peace into the world right now because THATS what we need most! Love Love & more LOVE!”
She caused controversy earlier this year by distancing herself from the hip-hop inspired sound of her 2013 album Bangerz, opting for a more acoustic, country sound. In an interview with Billboard, she said:
I also love that new Kendrick [Lamar] song [‘Humble’]: ‘Show me somethin’ natural like ass with some stretch marks.’ I love that because it’s not ‘Come sit on my dick, suck on my cock.’ I can’t listen to that anymore. That’s what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little. It was too much ‘Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my cock'—I am so not that.
