Migos MC Offset is the final rapper in the Atlanta trio to drop his solo debut album. After months of delaying the project, Offset released Father of 4. The project features J. Cole, Quavo, Gunna, CeeLo Green, Cardi B, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, and more, and is produced by Southside, Metro Boomin’ CuBeatz, Allen Ritter, and more. Father of 4 is preceded by “Red Room,” the single Offset dropped last week in anticipation of the album.
In contrast to Migos' usual braggadocios flow, Offset shies away from rapping about luxuries and fame on his new album. In November 2018, the Atlanta rapper sat down with Billboard to discuss what fans should expect:
I’m talking about relevant situations that have occurred over the last 18 or 24 months, like me being in the crash, my kids, my family time and me being married.
Carlos Desrosiers, an A&R executive at Motown Records, also encouraged Offset to “give ‘em substance.”
Last year, Quavo was the first to release his solo debut with QUAVO HUNCHO, followed by Takeoff’s The Last Rocket. Offset’s studio album was originally slated to release in December, but was delayed amidst the announcement that he and Cardi B had separated. Migos will to release their fourth studio album Culture III later this year.
