Sampha’s long-awaited debut album Process is finally here. The 10-track album is produced entirely by Sampha and audio engineer Rodaidh McDonald, who is best known for his extensive work with The xx. Process includes the previously-released singles “Plastic 100°C,” “Blood On Me,” “No One Knows Me (Like the Piano),” and “Timmy’s Prayer.”
Although he’s released two solo EPs—2010’s Sundanza and 2013’s Dual—Sampha rose to fame largely thanks to his work with artists like Drake (“Too Much”), Kanye West (“Saint Pablo”), and Solange (“Don’t Touch My Hair”).
“There are a lot of avenues that I haven’t really explored emotionally,” the London singer-songwriter said about writing Process in a recent interview with The Evening Standard. “There are things that I’ve thought, that I’d probably never say. And I think there is an element of Sampha being a character. It’s not necessarily all me. It’s only a part of me that I’m sharing.”
