Remy Ma Fires Shots At Nicki Minaj On “ShETHER”

“To be the queen of rap you gotta actually rap.”

Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma have been sending each other subliminal shots on wax for the last few months—but today, things have escalated to a new level. On her new collab “Make Love” with Gucci Mane, Nicki raps:

She ain’t eatin' but I swear she got some bum ass taste
Text her man like, “Dawg, how that bum ass taste?”
Pay your rent! And stay in your bum ass place
Oooohhh, oh you the qu-e-e-the queen of this here?
One platinum plaque, album flopped, bitch, where? (bitch, where?)

Less than 24 hours after its release, Remy Ma quickly responded with a scathing diss track by the name of “ShETHER.” The track is almost seven minutes long and is a play on Nas’ “Ether."

On it, she raps:

And I saw Meek at All-Star; he told me your ass drop
He couldn’t fuck you for three months because your ass dropped
Now I don’t think you understand how bad her ass got
The implants that you had put in her ass popped!
I was like, “Damn, 90 days and you couldn’t have box?
Did she at least compensate, start giving you mad top?
Her name Minaj, right? She ain’t throw you some mad thots?”
He said “Nah,” that’s when I knew you was really a trash bop

Remy goes on to accuse Nicki of starting the beef between Drake and her ex-boyfriend Meek Mill, hooking up with Hot 97’s Ebro Darden, and references her older brother Jelani, who is facing life in prison after being indicted for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl. Remy also accuses her of using ghostwriters on the lines:

And to be the Queen of Rap, you gotta actually rap
The whole industry know that your shit is a wrap
No, to be the Queen of Rap, you can’t have a ghostwriter
And that’s why this is My House, Flo Rida!
Niggas done seen Drake penning, Wayne penning
And since your first boyfriend left, bitch ain’t winning
You a Internet troll, a Web browser, I’m sorry
You can’t get her online with out Safaree!

Nicki Minaj posted Remy and Fat Joe’s first week album sales as a response in a since-deleted Instagram post and went on Twitter to fire back at Trey Songz, who Remy accused her of sleeping with.

Later that day, Ebro took to Twitter to clear his name, and Remy’s husband Papoose chimed in, too:

As Genius contributer AintNoJigga points out, Remy and Nicki have somewhat gone back and forth since 2006 but their beef came to a head in late 2016 after Remy Ma dropped a freestyle over Nas' classic “N.Y. State of Mind” that fans speculated contained subliminal shots directed at Nicki.
