Taylor Swift Finds The Man Of Her Dreams On Second ‘reputation’ Single “...Ready For It?”

“In the middle of the night, in my dreams / You should see the things we do, baby.”

Less than two weeks after dropping “Look What You Made Me Do,” Taylor Swift surprised fans with the release of her new single “…Ready For It?” It’s the second track off her upcoming album reputation, which is set to drop on November 10. The track is produced by Ali Payami, Max Martin and Shellback; the trio also worked with Swift on her 1989 single “Style.” The song consists of Swift fantasizing about her future with a man who comes off as a “bad boy.”

From the song’s opening, Swift shows interest in a guy who may not be good for her:

Knew he was a killer
First time that I saw him
Wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted
But if he’s a ghost then I can be a phantom
Holdin' him for ransom

There is a possibility that the “But if he’s a ghost then I can be a phantom” lyric is a reference to her former boyfriend Harry Styles, who released a song titled “Two Ghosts.” On “Two Ghosts,” Styles laments over a failed relationship, using details that caused some fans to believe it was about Swift.

The chorus is mostly a reference to sex, as Genius community member VinylZombie_MCR breaks down in an annotation:
