Thaiboy Digital Links With Swedish Rapper Yung Lean For New Song “True Love”

It’s the lead single off his forthcoming LP, ‘Back 2 Life.’

Yesterday was a big day for Thaiboy Digital fans. The Thailand-born, Sweden-raised artist not only dropped his latest single, “True Love,” a collaboration with Swedish rapper Yung Lean, but he also announced his new album, Back 2 Life, due out next month. “True Love” is already building considerable hype for Thaiboy’s forthcoming LP—the song has since soared into the Top 20 of the Genius Top Songs chart.

“True Love” was produced by Rok, who’s worked with big names like Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd, and Bladee. The song is about being devoted to that special someone in your life—and showing them that you care in every way that you can.

Thaiboy handles the chorus, where he basks in the joy of finding that rare connection.

Thaiboy Digital, true love, unconditional
This life is a miracle (Thaiboy)
All love is possible
Cuz we the one, we the one, we the one (yeah)

On the first verse, Thaiboy shows his true love how much he appreciates her by showering her with material goods. After all, she’s the light at the end of the tunnel for him.

Pull up in that blue Porsche (In that blue Porche)
She wants to hit all the stores (Hit all the stores)
Sunshine, light up the storm (Light up the storm)

He later reflects on the many years that he’s been devoted to his love. The strength of their long-running bond makes him feel like the mythological king Sun Wukong from the 16th century Chinese novel Journey to the West.

Seven years, baby, that’s way too long (That’s way too long)
I’m a king, shit, just like Wukong (Just like Wukong)
Your heart is where I belong (Where I belong)

Yung Lean steps in for the second verse, where he vows to stay devoted to his true love no matter what they’ve done or where they came from.

I still believe in your eyes
I just don’t care what you’ve done with your life

Yung Lean does have one deal breaker later on in the verse, though. Never stand in the way of his good time.

You can do whatever you want
Just don’t fuck up my fun

Back 2 Life is set to arrive on November 18. While you wait, you can read all the lyrics to “True Love” on Genius now.
