21 Savage’s “a lot” featuring J. Cole peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 281 million YouTube views to date. It is produced by DJ Dahi and appears on i am > i was. Genius recently sat down with the LA producer to break down how the song was made.
“I think my whole musical experience has really allowed me to hear music from the standpoint of being appreciative. Kinda like the people who made music before me,” said Dahi. “You don’t hear a lot of like soul samples today. I really love the fact that 21 took the risk with me to do it.”
