The Kid LAROI Is Never Going To Change On New Song “Thousand Miles”

It’s the Australian artist’s first single of 2022.

The Kid LAROI is back with “Thousand Miles,” a new single that’s rumored to be a taste off his long-awaited debut album, KIDS ARE GROWING UP. The album will mark LAROI’s first full-length project since dropping his debut 2020 mixtape, ‘F*ck Love.’ Vinyl editions of the mixtape, which includes LAROI’s No. 1 hit “Stay,” are still available on Amazon.

“Thousand Miles” is LAROI’s first release this year, though it’s been in the making for a while now. The Australia native has been teasing the track as far back as January 2021, when he played a clip on his Instagram story. As soon as the official version arrived, “Thousand Miles” shot into the Top 20 on the Genius Top Songs chart.

Produced by Louis Bell, “Thousand Miles” finds LAROI warning his lover to stay away from him. He’s no good for her and that’s never going to change. On the refrain, his lover doesn’t heed his warning. She’s on her way back to him and he’s not strong enough to turn her away.

I know that look on your face
You’re comin’ my way, you’re comin’ my way tonight
Here goes another mistake I know I’m gon’ make

LAROI advises her to change course on the pre-chorus.

Oh, you should let it go, you’re better off alone
‘Cause I’m about to fuck it up with you

On the hook, he provides a little more insight into why he’s no good. Turns out, he can’t figure out how to kick his bad habits.

And I will never change
I couldn’t even if I wanted to for you, oh-oh

One thing remains true, though: LAROI’s inability to change has nothing to do with his feelings for his lover. That’s what makes it so hard for him to walk away on the song’s only verse.

It’s hard to give it all up (All up)
Tryna block you out but you’re invading my thoughts
And you got ten fingers wrapped around my heart, uh (Heart)

“Thousand Miles” arrived alongside a music video directed by Christian Breslauer. The clip shows the good version of LAROI, dressed in all white, constantly at odds with his evil self, who dons all red.
