The Weeknd is beginning the rollout for his next album with the release of the project’s lead single, “Take My Breath.” The song finds him crooning over upbeat synth pop.
On the track, he sings:
I saw the fire in your eyes
I saw the fire when I looked into your eyes
You tell me things you wanna try
I know temptation is the devil in disguise
You risk it all to feel alive, oh yeah
The Weeknd revealed back in July that he was well on his way to completing the follow-up to 2020’s multi-Platinum After Hours, saying he was in the process of “massaging it now, being sweet to it. giving it some tlc.” He also hinted that it could drop before his After Hours tour begins at the start of 2022.
