The song experienced a 5,565 percent pageview spike after the movie preview was released.

Get Out director Jordan Peele dropped the trailer for his latest horror movie, Us, on Christmas Day. The clip prominently features Oakland duo Luniz’s 1995 classic, “I Got 5 on It,” prompting viewers to either revisit or learn the song’s lyrics on Genius.

“I Got 5 on It” experienced a massive surge in popularity, skyrocketing from 124 Genius pageviews on December 24 to 7,025 the next day, when the Us trailer was released. This represents an increase of 5,565 percent. The song’s lyrics page has maintained popularity since then, racking up 5,983 pageviews on December 26. It’s currently on pace to approach those numbers today. Prior to the Us trailer, it was averaging 145 pageviews a day.

The trailer mainly includes Michael Marshall’s hook on “I Got 5 on It.” As one of the children in the films points out, the lyrics refer splitting a dime bag of weed:

I got five on it; grab your 40, let’s get keyed
I got five on it; messin' with that Indo weed
I got five on it; it’s got me stuck, cannot go back
I got five on it; partner, let’s go half on a sack

Produced by Tone Capone, the Operation Stackola track is built around several samples: Kool & the Gang’s 1973 classic, “Jungle Boogie,” Audio Two’s signature 1987 track, “Top Billin',” and Club Nouveau’s 1986 hit, “Why You Treat Me So Bad.” In turn, “I Got 5 on It” has been sampled by dozens of artists, including Puff Daddy, Meek Mill, and Ab-Soul.

The track currently has over 100 million Spotify streams and another 55 million YouTube views, which are sure to go up thanks to the trailer.

Us hits theaters on March 15, 2019. In the meantime, watch the trailer below:
