Young Thug Earns His Highest-Charting Song Ever As A Lead Artist With “The London”

While the Atlanta rapper has several major features, he’s never landed a solo song in the Top 40 before.

Young Thug is often credited for influencing the sound of modern rap music, but he’s had limited success when it comes to his own songs on the charts. That changed today, as ChartData reports that his new song, “The London,” debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song, which features Travis Scott and J. Cole, is now the highest-charting song of Thugger’s career as a lead artist.

“The London” falls below his feature on Camila Cabello’s “Havana,” which reached No. 1, but it eclipses the chart position of any song where he has lead billing. His next-highest chart position as a lead artist is “Best Friend,” which peaked at No. 45 in February 2016. It’s worth noting that Thugger reached No. 16 with “Lifestyle” in 2014, although that song is billed to Rich Gang despite the fact that Thug performs the song’s chorus and two of its three verses.

Other Top 40 chart appearances for Thugger as a featured artist are as follows:
