Yelawolf Takes Shots At Post Malone & G-Eazy On “Bloody Sunday Freestyle”

“I can’t let this Tom Cruise lookin’ motherfucker just paddle by.”

Shady Records rapper Yelawolf is gearing up for the release of his new album, Trunk Muzik III, set to drop later this year, and today he released his latest freestyle, “Bloody Sunday.” On the track, Yelawolf takes shots at G-Eazy, Post Malone, Machine Gun Kelly, and Alabama rapper Clever.

He targets G-Eazy about halfway through the song, saying that Gerald views himself as the most successful white rapper since Eminem:

Never thought the culture that I loved would be this sleazy
His videos all look alike, no wonder they can’t see me
Is this the guy that said he was the hottest white boy
Since the one with dyed blonde hair, what the fuck
Hold up, G… easy

He compares G-Eazy’s rap skills to infamous “Ice Ice Baby” MC Vanilla Ice, and drops a reference to the 2001 Tom Cruise film Vanilla Sky:

I can’t let this Tom Cruise lookin' motherfucker just paddle by
Don’t know if I’m watching Vanilla Ice or Vanilla Sky
Marshall Mathers may have ignored you
But if you want the smoke, bring the foil
I’ll boil you till the kettle’s dry

The exact status of the relationship between G-Eazy and Eminem is unclear, although Gerald posted a throwback picture of them together during Em’s beef with Machine Gun Kelly last year:

Yelawolf finishes off by insulting G-Eazy’s signature Stillhouse Black Bourbon Whiskey:

The nerve of the shit they say, I’m permanently amazed
And your whiskey sucks, fuckin' one sip, I wanted to go straight back to AA

His next target is Post Malone, whom Yelawolf accuses of stealing his signature look and style:

Who else? I would diss Post Malone but he don’t even rap
Fuck it, fuck Post Malone, just because, let’s see if he answers back
All that change, tits, and funk chill bill, and the cowboy boots and hats
Damn Postie, can’t we be friends? Our clothes already match
Poser, biter, appropriation thief, give a fuck how many records you sold
Every fan you made is a leaf off of my tree
Boy you’re my seed, another mullet in the gang with the teeth I see
I just picked a bone with Post Malone and did it all on a Beastside beat

Post Malone has frequently been called a culture vulture for repeated comments distancing himself from hip-hop despite profiting off his association with the genre. In this case, however, it seems Yelawolf is insulting Post for appropriating a southern cowboy aesthetic even though he’s originally from Syracuse, New York.

Post later responded by calling Yelawolf a “nerd” and sharing an old Instagram comment the rapper made in support of Post:

Yelawolf also mentions Machine Gun Kelly, who engaged in a heated back-and-forth with Yela’s label boss Eminem last year, although he says that he’s saving his thoughts for his upcoming album:

Threw a middle finger out the window when I wave
Trunk Muzik III bruh, you gon' know how I feel about MGK

Elsewhere on the song, Yelawolf takes shots at a lesser-known artist named Clever, who recently scored a major placement on Juice WRLD’s new album, Death Race For Love. Clever is from Gadsden, Alabama, the same city as Yelawolf and his longtime friend and collaborator DJ Klever. On “Bloody Sunday,” Yela dismisses Clever:

There’s only one Michael Wayne, there’s only one Klever
As for the other white boy from Gadsden (pst), whatever
You’re welcome, now take that petty diss and run with it
Fuck around and I’ll surround you like circumferences
You build a house of hate around what I have brung to this

Trunk Muzik III doesn’t have an official release date yet, but it’s expected to drop sometime this year. The project will reportedly be Yelawolf’s last album on Shady Records, and represents the first installment of his Trunk Muzik series since Trunk Muzik Returns in 2013.
