Kimmel doesn’t exactly understand the meaning of “drip too hard.”

Jimmy Kimmel has a segment on his show called “New Lyrics for Old People,” and on the latest edition, the talk show host brought out YG to “translate” the lyrics to his latest single, “Go Loko.” The track features Tyga and Puerto Rican rapper Jon Z, but Kimmel and YG focused on Tyga’s chorus and YG’s verse.

On “Go Loko,” YG spits some explicit lyrics about his sexual life:

Call me for dick, not Geico
(Not Geico, call my phone when you’re horny)
Hey mamacita, hey mamacita, hey
Drip too hard, don’t drown on this wave

“This means if you’re interested in making love, call me. But if you need auto insurance, I can’t help you,” Kimmel explained correctly, before misinterpreting the next two lines. “Hello young lady, hello young lady. Always wear a life vest when you’re boating.”

The latter two lines are similar to Lil Baby and Gunna’s hit, “Drip Too Hard,” when Baby says:

Drip too hard, don’t stand too close
You gon' fuck around and drown off this wave

In this case, “drip” is a reference to one’s clothing. Genius previously broke down the history of the term:

“Go Loko” is the second single from YG’s upcoming album, 4REAL 4REAL, which is now slated to arrive on May 24 after several pushbacks and delays. The Compton rapper debuted the first single from the project, “Stop Snitchin,” during the first weekend of Coachella before making it available on streaming services in late April.
