In an interview with Just So You Know, Gaskarth said the album title

Regarding the sound of the album, they described it as an effort to develop their sound and hone in sic on great songwriting rather than conform to the boundaries of a certain genre. The album contains pieces reminiscent of genres such as emo-pop, pop, pop-rock, and power-pop.
