Greatest Hits 1980-1994

Aretha Franklin

About “Greatest Hits 1980-1994”

Greatest Hits 1980-1994 was Aretha Franklin’s first proper hits compilation since signing with Arista Records where she experience a full career resurgence in the mid-80s.

The set collects funky post-disco hits like “Jump To It” and “Get It Right” and sits them right next to massive pop and rock hits like “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me),” “Freeway Of Love,” and “Jumpin' Jack Flash.”

Not missing an opportunity to extend her relevance into the 1990s, the set includes three new songs: a pair of Babyface-penned R&B ballads “Willing To Forgive” and “Honey”, and a gospelized cover of Clivelles & Cole’s “A Deeper Love” which also made its way into the hit film Sister Act.
