Infections of a Different Kind (Step I)

AURORA

About “Infections of a Different Kind (Step I)”

Infections of a Different Kind (Step I) was released on 28 September 2018 and it forms the first chapter of a two-part album. ‘Step 2’ was released on 7 June 2019. She told NME:

‘Step 1’ is a natural step after my first album, which was about looking into yourself, looking at all of it and accepting all of it. It’s easier to be numb, rather than in contact with your own emotions. That was my biggest mission back then – to make sure that we’re not afraid to feel, not afraid to cry, accepting our demons as part of evolving as a human.

She further said:

“There’s a deeper understanding of myself and what I want to say and do than on my first album. It’s more tuned into my soul and who I am. It’s about the many, many different aspects of what it is to be human. It covers the way we hurt and we love and the way we are so beautiful but also so awful.” –AURORA.

The album features her stand-alone singles “Queendom” and “Forgotten Love” and includes additional contributions from Martin Sjolie, Electric, Jakwob and Couros

The build up for the album’s release started a few days before the release of the album with the release of snippets of all the album’s tracks in chronological order of its tracklist, starting with “Queendom”, being the first track, and working its way down, along with parts of the lyrics of each of the songs as her post captions.

“Queendom”:

“Forgotten Love”

“Gentle Earthquakes”

“All Is Soft Inside”

“It Happened Quiet”
