Give Me The Future + Dreams Of The Past

“Give Me The Future + Dreams Of The Past” is a double LP release by UK alternative band Bastille.

Released Friday August 26th, the album serves both as a deluxe re-pack and an expansion of February 2022’s “Give Me The Future”.

The double album contains 3 separate stories, each focused on their own themes, while still adhering to an overarching world built by the band to tell the album’s story.

The original 13-track standard remains as the story of “Give Me The Future”, charting out human reactions to fears and uncertainty regarding the quickly changing and approaching tech driven future.

The second segment, dubbed “Dreams Of The Past”, a reflection on living tech and worry free with those around you, and themes of looking back on life.

Finally the 3rd segment, titled “Other People’s Heartache PT. 5”, serving both as a segment of songs focused on living in the moment of human connection, as well as the 5th installment in the band’s collaboration-centric mixtape series. This portion of songs features both the singles “Remind Me” and the dj-collab ““Run Into Trouble” with Alok. It also contains a singular cover, in line with the usually much more numerous covers/mashups the mixtape series is known for.
