LULU is a collaborative EP from Buffalo rapper Conway the Machine and Los Angeles producer The Alchemist, released on March 30, 2020. It follows Conway’s Look What I Became mixtape, released last fall. Though the duo has worked together on many songs in the past, LULU marks the first full collaborative project between the two.
The subject matters within the album including the album name/song titles contains many references to the 2002 crime drama Paid In Full starring Wood Harris, Mekhi Phifer and Cam’ron.
The first single, “Shoot Sideways” featuring ScHoolboy Q, was premiered on Beats 1 Radio and subsequently released on March 24, 2020.
In addition to ScHoolboy Q, the project also features a guest appearance from Queensbridge rapper Cormega.
To mark the release of the project, Conway and Alchemist worked with Dutch clothing brand Patta on a collaborative capsule collection.
The project released through Griselda Records and ALC Records, and is distributed through EMPIRE.
