No.1

No.1 is the eighth mini album by CLC. It was released on January 30, 2019, and No was choosen to be the title track. The album’s name can be read as “no one” and also “number one”. CLC said on their showcase that they say the album’s name as “number one”.

After the released of Black Dress in February of 2018, CLC had a tough year with their mid-year comeback being delayed.

During CLC’s reality show released on November 1st 2018, CLC talked about the concept of their comeback. They talked about having a strong (girl crush) concept with the song having a strong bass beat yet being soft.

Following the broadcast of the show, a video with the choreography of IZ*ONE’s La Vie en Rose with CLC’s version was leaked online.

During the showcase of No.1, CLC was asked about the song that had previously belonged to CLC:

La Vie en Rose was a track that we had finished recording. We were pretty surprised when we found out later, but this is common in the music industry so although it was a little regrettable, we weren’t sad. I think the track was able to meet better owners. Thanks to that, we were also able to meet a great track like ‘No.'

The song entered on Melon chart and peaked 95 on the rising chart.

The music video was released alongside the EP on January 30. In 24 hours, the video had surpassed 2 million views on YouTube, and the sales were higher than Black Dress, since they already sold more than 1,000 copies in just one day.
