Supernormal [EP]

About “Supernormal [EP]”

The Supernormal EP is a follow-up to RE-ANIMATOR, featuring two remixes from the album as well as two songs from the same writing and recording period that just didn’t make the final cut. Bassist Jeremy Pritchard likened the omission of those tracks to smoothing out the album’s edges. As he explained on Skiddle UK’s Guest List podcast, the two songs represent the “extreme bookends of what we do as a band”.

“‘Supernormal’ is very, very relentless, intense and a total onslaught. ‘Mercury & Me’ is very much more delicate and dark and confessional and sparse. We loved those songs but we just didn’t feel that they had a place on the album so we wanted to give them a different lease of life […] I’m glad that we’ve given them their own spotlight as it were, and I’m really glad we’ve been able to tie them in with Record Store Day and put them on a format that we’ve not had an opportunity to embrace before.

Three of the EP’s tracks were released digitally before the band announced that they would be included in a Record Store Day 2021 UK exclusive along with the debut of “Mercury & Me”. The physical release is a 10" red and berry-coloured splatter vinyl.
