Éxitos de Gloria Estefan

Gloria Estefan

About “Éxitos de Gloria Estefan”

This Album, with all music Composed by Maury Yeston (later known for composing “My Heart Will Go On” in 1997) was originally going to be a Theater Musical. It never came to be, because Placido Domingo (later known as one of the Three Tenors) was meant to perform as the Title Character, but was heavily booked for Opera performances in the 90s.

This album, on its own, has a selection of Vocalists of other Genres… Placido Domingo bringing in the Larger-than-Life, Classical, Operatic aspect, Gloria Estefan’s brand of Latin-Pop, Dionne Warwick’s soulful Ballad vocals, Richie Haven’s fast, driving, Folk-Rock strumming, all woven together as a Musical Tapestry, telling about the life of Spanish Painter Francisco Goya.
