Following his mainstream success in 2022, Jason DeFord, under his stage name Jelly Roll, set out to release his first full-length Country album on June 2, 2023. On an episode of The Rob + Holly Show, DeFord stated:

“2022, I climbed the mountain of Country music. 2023, I’m gonna plant the flag to show y’all I’m here… Let me claim a little space.”

Following a series of teaser images on his social media, Jelly Roll announced the album on March 16, 2023. He described the new album with these words:

“This album is about growth and gratitude happening in my life. I wanted to create a project that felt hopeful. I believe the worst feeling a person can have is feeling hopeless or worthless. This is therapeutic music. Real music for real people with real problems.”

The album’s first single, ‘She’‘, was released on November 30, 2022. The album’s second single, 'Need A Favor’, released on December 9, 2022. ‘Need A Favor’ received significant radio airplay on both the Country and Mainstream Rock formats.

The album features collaborations with Brantley Gilbert, Struggle Jennings, Yelawolf, and Lainey Wilson.
