Where The Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles

Where The Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles is, as the title suggests, a live album/DVD by John Mayer. It’s his third live effort, following 2003’s Any Given Thursday and the As/Is collection, a series of digital releases divided into “volumes.”

Where The Light Is is itself divided into three unmarked sections: an intimate, solo acoustic set, a blues-oriented set with John Mayer Trio and a ‘regular’ band set. The sets are five, eight and ten songs long respectively, rounding out the album count at 23 tracks. The album/DVD is just over two hours long.

The album received generally positive reviews. One track in particular, a cover of Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin'”, received critical acclaim and commercial success.
