Swimming in Circles is a double album that consists of Mac Miller’s final two studio albums: Swimming (2018) and Circles (2020). Mac intended the albums to be connected, serving as companion pieces to one another, as they share many of the same themes thematically and sonically. The two albums were originally supposed to be part of a trilogy, in which the final album (which unfortunately was never recorded due to Miller’s sudden passing) would serve as a full-on hip-hop album in contrast to Swimming and Circles' orchestral and R&B influences.
The only official release of Swimming in Circles as a double album was through Mac Miller’s website as a vinyl box set.
