“Sailing to Philadelphia is the second solo album by Mark knopfler and his first since 1996. After a lot of success with Dire Straits on hits as Sultans of Swing and Money for Nothing. For fifteen years he spent as the singer/guitarist of Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler always appeared to be the reluctant rock star. The album is a mature, literate record on which Mark Knopfler draws on his wide range of tastes in several musicgenres such as delta blues, country and rock. He teams up with James Taylor and Vand Morrison.
Over the past twenty years Mark Knopfler collaborated with artists such as Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton.
