The System Has Failed

About “The System Has Failed”

The System Has Failed is the tenth studio album by thrash metal band Megadeth. This album was the first Megadeth record to be released after Dave Mustaine recovered from his arm injury.

It is the first of three Megadeth albums to not feature long-time bass player David Ellefson. The System Has Failed features session players, including the band’s former guitarist Chris Poland.

Music videos were made for the album’s lead single “Die Dead Enough” and the second single “Of Mice and Men”. The album’s second video featured the then-new Megadeth lineup. “The Scorpion” was also released as a single.

A video was made for “Back in the Day” in 2005 but was unreleased until the album’s tenth anniversary. This track was also featured in an episode of the Duck Dodgers, where an animated version of the band performed the song.
